Here’s a quick game to help you get to know your characters a little better.

Tell us about your character only by describing the contents of their purse, pockets, nightstand, glove compartment, desk, or another personal space. This can’t just be a list of random items. The trick is to create a list that tells us something about your character.

But most importantly, have some fun with it. Give them a little personality. The CD hidden in a desk drawer might be a from a band she would be ashamed to admit she likes. The knife in his pocket might have the boy scout logo, which he has carried since he was 12.
