Last week’s experiment with the podcast proved to be a success. Not one repeated this week alas, as time got away from me.
But for those who enjoyed listening to the podcast, here are some other podcasts that I would recommend for writers. Here, I’m thinking more about podcasts that are concerned with the more practical aspects of writing and publishing, rather than just good podcast fiction (perhaps another post).
In no particular order:
- Grammar Girl
Hosted by Mignon Fogarty, this podcast provides quick tips to improve your grammar in a friendly and easy to follow format.
- I Should Be Writing
A podcast for wanna-be fiction writers, by Mur Lafferty, a writer who describes herself as still learning. Mur has an audio and video podcast full of hints, tips, and insights into writing and publishing.
- The Word Nerds
A podcast about language, and language change, by people who love words – a must for anyone interested in the richness and subtlety of English.
- The Writing Show
Show host Paula B delivers high-quality, in-depth interviews, reality shows, and other features designed to shed light on aspects of writing, publishing, and other topics of interest to those who write and those who aspire to do so.
- Writing Excuses
“Fifteen minutes long, because you’re in a hurry, and we’re not that smart”, this quick-paced show discusses writing techniques in a lively and engaging format.
When you’re writing, you can still be listening, and what you listen to can help you improve as a writer.
