Upcoming NaNoWriMo Workshops
Good morning, afternoon, evening everyone,
I’m planning on re-posting the week-long NaNoWriMo workshops that were published on this blog this time last year. The workshops will run from October 17th through October 23rd (no [Fiction] Friday that week – we’ll take a break from that).
I’d like to talk about various writing processes as well as invite you to participate in writing exercises (we’ll stretch those creative writing muscles before NaNo officially starts).
Here is the itinerary:
Saturday, Oct. 17th – Where to find ideas – writing a synopsis
Sunday, Oct. 18th – Setting
Monday, Oct. 19th – Character
Tuesday, Oct. 20th – Point of View
Wednesday, Oct 21st – Plot
Thursday, Oct. 22nd – Constructing scenes
Friday, Oct. 23rd – Pep talk, invitation to share Pre-NaNo thoughts.
Saturday, Oct. 24th – Open post day (if you have an account with wordpress.com and would like to write a post about what you have learned, or what you hope to learn, from the NaNoWriMo experience and publish that post on the Write Anything blog, please let me know. I’ll add your name to the list of approved users and beginning at 7:00 a.m. CST October 24th, you’ll have the ability to publish your post directly to the blog. If you wish to participate in open post day, I just need the email address that you used when you signed up for your wordpress.com account. The option to publish will be removed at 11:00 p.m. CST Oct. 24th.)
If you would like to write your own blog post to coincide with the topics being discussed, complete with your own tips, ideas or suggestions, feel free to leave the direct link to your post in the comment section. OR, if you want to go ahead and write on one, or more, of the topics listed above, email me the direct link to that post and I’ll include it so others can read your wisdom.
I will be referencing helpful materials throughout the week, but I’m certainly NOT an expert. If you have any advice or suggestions on the topics, please leave a comment!
Oh, one more thing: if you’re participating in NaNoWriMo, don’t forget we have our very own forum thread on the NaNoWriMo website. Sign in and let us know how you’re coming along!
Next CC: October 10th
Submission Deadline: 11:00 p.m. central time, October 9th.
Only one submission per blog, please.
