A Great Journey
It’s rather sad when a journey must come to an end. After four years and 169 posts, this is where I relay my goodbyes as a former guest writer and Write Anything’s Thursday weekly columnist. It’s time for me to move on to other ventures but will remain an avid reader of Write Anything.
It doesn’t feel like it’s been four years since Karen contacted me about being a guest writer for an up and coming group writing blog. I was still rather new to the writing world, getting my sea legs so to speak. Such an invitation was an honor. It pushed me to want to learn and explore more about the writing field.
It brought out the brave side of me. My goal was to pass on elements I had learned to others who were just starting out. I can only hope that someone in the world took away an useful piece of information from one of my posts after a visit to the site.
It all came down to a decision. Write Anything would soon go through a transformation. Should I stay and be apart of it or move on to other opportunities? Unfortunately, the choice was easily made.
I was among the ones feeling a bit burned out and on the verge of repeating myself more often than I would have liked. Write Anything is moving on to an even brighter future. Some new faces will help keep it a vital resource for writers. My growing commitments has led to the need for more time. Therefore, I felt ready to take my leave.
I want to thank Karen for presenting me with this opportunity. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of such a great group of writers as well as WA weekly writers who’ve always been so helpful and patient with me. While I won’t be coming back in any official capacity, I will continue to support Write Anything. I hope new writers joining the team will enjoy the experience as I have.
