Website Aids

September 23, 2010

NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. Another perk to signing up is you discover various websites to help you through the process. Below is only but ten of them:

1. Plot Planner – a chart to help outline the plot of your story.

2. FamilySearch.org – If you do family trees for your characters, here is a free software for you. Just scroll down and click on “download PAF”.

3. Phobia Guide and Phobia List – both sites have a long list of phobias.

4. Name Maker LE – This program gives you thousands of first, middle and last names to choose from. You will need Microsoft’s .NET Framework Version 1.1 to use it. You can download it here.

5. Fiction Writer’s Character Chart – this is a detailed chart to help get a firm grasp on your major characters.

6. Name Generator Sites – This website lists various name generators from all over the web.

7. Random Title Generator – Having problems finding the perfect title for your next project. Try this out.

8. DIY Planner – Good way to get organized.

9. FreeMind – looks like it could be a good program for organizing your novel.

10. Rough Draft – A word processor program.

Andrea’s final days as a regular writer on Write Anything are slowly counting down. It has been a pleasure being apart of such a great website.

This list has some excellent resources.
I’ve started a series on my blog detailing some of the startup steps to get ready for NaNo 2010. I’ll definitely be linking here when I start to list online resources.
